Weird Stuff You Can Bet on in 2024: Where to Bet on Aliens
If there is one thing we can all agree on, it is that the world is becoming a crazier place every year. Between climate change, pandemics, AI, and political unrest, it feels increasingly like we are all living in some kind of science fiction story. So, perhaps it is not a surprise that right now, Congress is debating about aliens and UFOs, and some of our favorite sports betting sites are offering action on the same!
In this post, we will explain what is going on with UFOs in Congress and what exactly you can bet on. But first, here are our recommended sportsbooks for betting on aliens.
Top Sites for Betting on Aliens in 2024
BetOnline is a dependable sportsbook that is flexible with deposit sizes, swift and reliable with payouts, and transparent in how they operate. They have become one of our go-to sportsbooks over the years, and we have had a great time working with them.
Right now, BetOnline is offering a number of betting markets related to aliens. We will go into these in detail later on in this post.
Never wagered at BetOnline before? You can claim a 50% Sports Welcome Bonus up to $1,000 upon opening your account. When you make your first crypto deposit, you can also grab a 100% 1st Time Crypto Bonus. More welcome bonuses at BetOnline include the 100% Casino Welcome Bonus and the 100% Poker Welcome Bonus.
When you want to deposit more funds, you can claim the 25% Sports Reload Bonus or the 30% Crypto Reload Bonus.
In addition, BetOnline is one of the best sportsbooks around if you are into contests. Many of their contests are free to enter, and they always have something new going on.
The other place you can bet on aliens right now is BetOnline’s sister site, SportsBetting.ag.
BetOnline bought this site back when it was under some dodgy ownership, and transformed it into a site that easily rivals BetOnline itself. You will appreciate the competitive odds and convenient banking options.
Currently, SportsBetting is offering the exact same betting markets on aliens as BetOnline, so, you would not open an account on both sites to get access to a wider range of bets — but you could do so in order to grab additional bonuses and promotions.
These are also pretty similar to what you will find at BetOnline. But hey! Claiming bonuses at each site means double the bonus cash!
Why are Aliens in the News Right Now?
Now that you know where you can bet on aliens, let’s explain why you can bet on aliens (besides the fact that it is summer, and we bet on weird stuff while we are waiting for the fall sports season to begin).
Over the past few days, UFOs and aliens have been in the headlines, as there is currently an investigation going on in Congress. This is not huge news, but chances are good you have run across more alien and UFO references than usual lately online, and this is the reason.
House Oversight Committee chair James Comer announced at the start of June that Congress would be looking into statements by an Air Force veteran and former National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) employee named David Grusch. According to Grusch, the military has discovered a crashed alien spacecraft, along with its occupants.
Speaking with NewsNation, Grusch said, “These are retrieving non-human origin technical vehicles, call it spacecraft if you will, non-human exotic origin vehicles that have either landed or crashed. Well, naturally, when you recover something that’s either landed or crashed, sometimes you encounter dead pilots and, believe it or not, as fantastical as that sounds, it’s true.”
Grusch continued, “There is a sophisticated disinformation campaign targeting the U.S. populace, which is extremely unethical and immoral.”
Grusch is not the only one who has been accusing the US government of lying to the people about alien life, either. Other accusations this year have come from former deputy assistant secretary of Defense for Intelligence, Christopher Mellon, as well as Tennessee congressman Tim Burchett (GOP).
Now, Florida senator Marco Rubio (GOP) is also talking about the whistleblowers, saying that they “have held very high clearances and high positions within our government, so you do ask yourself: What incentive would so many people with that kind of qualification… have to come forward and make something up?” He added, “Frankly a lot of them are very fearful. Fearful of their jobs, fearful of their clearances, fearful of their career.”
Rubio also said, “There are people who have come forward to share information with our committee over the last couple of years. I would imagine some of them are potentially some of the same people perhaps [Grusch is] referring to.”
One thing that is important to know about this situation is that Grusch himself does not claim to be an eyewitness. As explained here, “Yet Vox and a New York Times podcast have since covered the claims of whistleblower David Grusch, who admits he hasn’t seen the supposedly in-hand detritus of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), the official rechristening of UFOs. Nor does he have any firsthand evidence of them; he says he is repeating what other, as-yet-unnamed, people told him.”
Both the Department of Defense and NASA have denied possessing any solid evidence suggestive of alien life.

Why Bet on Aliens in 2024?
Is it worth betting on aliens this year? Sure, why not? It is something to do while you wait for fall sports, and who knows? Maybe this will finally be the year that little green (or purple, or red, or whatever) men visit us, and you will actually win your wager. And even if you don’t, it will still be fun!
Frankly, we are living in utterly bizarre times. Every year, it seems like something none of us expected happens. Right now, we are dealing with all the lamest tropes from science fiction in our everyday lives. Heck, your retirement plan at this point might be “go down swinging in the Climate Wars.”
Wouldn’t it be nice if something cool from science fiction happened in real life? I want to believe, so, yes! I am going to bet on aliens over at BetOnline and SportsBetting, and you should too! Maybe our destiny is to go out amongst the stars after all.
In a way, you do not have much to lose. If no aliens show up in 2024, your bet is returned. If aliens do show up this year and you get your wager right, you win a payout! If aliens show up this year and you are wrong, you lose your bet, but hey, there are confirmed aliens among us. That is a win all around. You will not even care that you lost your wager at that point.
What Strategy Can You Use to Bet on Aliens in 2024?
You might be wondering whether there is a strategic way you can bet on aliens. Well, unless you know something we do not, we are guessing you probably do not have a solid edge. But let’s consider all three bets available at SportsBetting and BetOnline and how you can approach them.
Color Of First Confirmed Alien On Earth
To review, here are the options and odds for this wager:
- Unknown to the human eye: +250
- Green: +400
- Yellow: +500
- Blue: +600
- Black: +600
- Purple: +600
- Red: +800
- White: +800
Out of the three bets available, this is the only one you can actually take a somewhat scientific approach to. So, what does science have to say about the likely colors of alien life?
Well, to start out, let’s consider plant life. The color of plants on alien worlds would depend on the color of the stars around which the planets orbit.
Scientific American explains, “Light of any color from deep violet through the near- infrared could power photosynthesis. Around stars hotter and bluer than our sun, plants would tend to absorb blue light and could look green to yellow to red. Around cooler stars such as red dwarfs, planets receive less visible light, so plants might try to absorb as much of it as possible, making them look black.”
Here is an interesting post that explains why mammals tend to come in drab shades of brown, tan and the like, while other critters like birds sport bright, contrasting hues. Basically, mammals started evolving around when dinosaurs were running around hunting them. So, the mammals had to blend in with the backdrop.
Thus, we can hypothesize that the colors of plants on an alien world might impact the colors of at least some of its animals, but not necessarily all. If the first visitors to our world evolved on a planet where they were hunted, they might share the same basic colors as their plant life. Mammals in our world can blend in with brown tree trunks and branches. But alien visitors might blend in with plants that are black, yellow, green or another hue.
Then again, perhaps our first extraterrestrial visitors will be evolved from hunters, not hunted, in which case they might come in some totally different colors.
Any further hints? Maybe. Let’s check out another couple of articles that get more specific.
This post in Nature discusses the research of Nancy Kiang, a biometeorologist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, and Victoria Meadows, an astronomer at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California. Meadows explains, “In general, plants will want to use blue light if they can.” For this reason, the researchers think blue leaves are unlikely on alien worlds.
We could hypothesize that this in turn might also reduce the chances of blue animals that would try to blend into those leaves (though who know? It’s not as if mammals on our world are green to blend in with green leaves although we do still have plenty of green reptiles.
Here is a scientific research study that says that early life on Earth might have been purple, rather than green. Maybe alien life is purple too. Does this mean you should wager on purple and avoid wagering on blue? Not necessarily, but hey, we do not have a whole lot else to go on! So, it is up to you.
Which Country Will Be Invaded By Aliens First
Let’s move onto the next question about which country aliens will invade first. It is hard to say what the logic of the current odds is. We are guessing the US is the favorite because Americans think the world revolves around them. Russia is probably the runner-up for favorite because there is so much going on with that country right now, and it is on all of our minds.
Does that mean it will be on alien minds though? Not necessarily. Although the question assumes that aliens want to invade countries. So, yes, it probably stands to reason they will tackle one of the big players early on to take them off the board.
Of course, we also need to define “invade,” which will be from a human, subjective point of view.
Do not forget, a government needs to confirm an “invasion” or “attack” for you to win this wager. But some governments might be like, “Okay, there are aliens here. We do not like things different from us, therefore, we are under attack.” If so, you would win your bet, however ridiculous and xenophobic those governments might be. In that case, perhaps a good strategy is simply to wager on any country that has a large geographical land area. Let’s hope that you lose this wager though! Whether the aliens attack us or we attack them, your bet payout would be small consolation if interstellar war breaks out!
Who Will Be Abducted By Aliens In 2024
Of all of these bets, this one is the silliest, and here purely for fun. Maybe it would make sense for aliens to abduct a politician or one of the world’s richest people. But that is assuming that aliens are motivated by political or economic interests.
Why would the aliens decide to abduct a singer or actor though? Just because we have a cult of celebrity, that does not mean that aliens are going to find our celebrities fascinating or important!
The odds in this category seem pretty random. Why would aliens be more likely to abduct Dwayne Johnson than Elon Musk, for example?
If you decide to make a wager on who will be abducted by aliens in 2024, we suggest sticking with politicians or CEOs — in other words, people who have a big effect on policy in various countries and/or a lot of economic clout.
But who knows? Maybe aliens will abduct top experts in goldfish or cabinet handles or concrete aggregates or something else completely unexpected!
